Education & Work Experience
Right now, I’m pursuing my Master’s in Public Relations & Advertising at USC, where I’m focused on crisis communication, sports PR, and how storytelling actually moves people. I’ve always been drawn to how narratives get shaped, especially when the pressure’s on and this program has let me dig into that in a more strategic way.
Before that, I earned my Bachelor’s in Political Science with a minor in Ethnic Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. That’s where I began thinking about how public opinion works, how people respond to messaging, and how identity plays into it all: stuff that definitely shows up in the way I approach PR now.
Work-wise, I’ve done a bit of everything from being a Research Assistant at USC to organizing youth programs for the Tigray Community of Colorado. I also interned in D.C. through the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, working in a senators office. One of my main tasks was drafting constituent response letters, which meant I had to study how the Senator spoke, understand her stance on issues, and write in her tone to basically, deliver the message as if it came from her. That was my first real experience with voice and message control which is something that’s core to public relations. And honestly, working retail and customer service at places like 7-Eleven and Einstein Bros. taught me just as much especially about patience, multitasking, and how to read people quickly.
Every experience has taught me something different, but they all tie back to the same thing: understanding people, staying adaptable, and communicating clearly even when things are messy.
